Maryana Kleyn, LCSW
Greetings and congratulations! I applaud you for being here – whether this is your first time seeking therapy or your fifth, finding the right therapist is a critical step in starting your journey in feeling better and living a healthier life.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or past trauma? Are you feeling on edge, no longer enjoying things you used too, or just feeling down? Maybe you are experiencing a heightened sense of hypervigilance. Or, maybe you are just looking for someone to talk to while you try to juggle and balance all that life has thrown at you – we don’t have to wait for a significant event or something traumatic happening for us to seek out support and a listening ear.
Therapy is not one size fits all. I am not a “by the book” type of therapist. My approach to therapy involves using a variety of modalities and strategies; however, I am a trauma-informed therapist. I aim to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for all my clients. I am warm, laidback but direct, and I use humor to lighten the mood when talking about tough topics and processing difficult emotions. Therapy can be hard work but it is so rewarding. Together, we will collaborate on setting goals to address your current concerns and work together to help you feel better, heal, and nurture your relationships.
Over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of settings – nonprofits, private practice, and mostly recently a university counseling center. Currently, my practice focuses on trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships. I have experience working with children as young as three who were exhibiting behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, and bullying, among other adolescent issues. I will happily see your child who is at least 15.
All are welcome – I consider myself an inclusive, social justice oriented, LGBTQIA+ ally, body and sex positive therapist. Outside of work, I am mostly likely cuddling with my 60 pound dog, reading a book, or binge watching Netflix’s newest series. I look forward to working with you!
